Deconfinement: in Val-de-Reuil, the diving club resurfaces
After two months of confinement, the Diving Club of Val-de-Reuil (Eure) is preparing its first sea trip in compliance with health safety rules.
The lifting of the confinement finally allows the Val-de-Reuil Diving Club (Eure) to resume its activity of selling second-hand equipment. With the arrival of good weather, sea outings are planned every weekend. Before they can finally get back to their passion, the divers of Val-de-Reuil (Eure) are already in the starting blocks.
As they made their first dive of the season, all the equipment was carefully reviewed.from the equipment to the boat.preparations were disrupted by the health constraints linked to the risk of contamination from the Covid-19.
Etienne Hanser, president of the club, explains:
We finally received permission to return to sea, but with a number of constraints, particularly on the inflation of the blocks, we only allowed two people to take care of them during deconfinement. We limit access to the room and have posted signs to explain the procedures for decontaminating the equipment.
The pool remains closed
If sea outings and open water swimming are allowed again, access to the municipal swimming pool is still forbidden, an additional constraint that prevents the club from meeting the demand of its 54 members for the moment.
It was very restrictive. We were no longer allowed access to the water and the sea, so we had to stop all our activities during containment. But we can’t resume all our activities yet because the pool is closed and it will remain closed for a while.
During the lockdown, the club remained on standby to collect all the necessary information to ensure a safe recovery for its members. The rules are governed by a guide drawn up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports according to the recommendations of the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports.
These measures include the requirement for each diver to bring his/her own equipment, which must be fully disinfected before and after each use.
